The twelve days of Ohio Christmas - 2 nuns atwinning

How do you suppose the folks of Twinsburg, Ohio came up with the idea of a twins festival? Oh-yeah. Right.

Well, the notion was inspired; Twinsburg has become nationally famous for its Twins Festival on the first weekend of August each year. Like Noah loading the Ark, they come two by two by the thousands to take part in the festivities. Fraternal or identical, all womb mates are welcome. And no, attendees aren't required to wear identical outfits, although many choose to do so. Age is no barrier, either; participants range from a few months to 80+ years of age.

Activities include a talent show, parade, crowning of festival royalty, and the usual entertainment and feasting.

The festival also is a magnet for researchers looking to research genetics and nature/nurture questions. The Economist reported from one festival where different scientists were testing twin's ability to taste bitterness, their hearing, pitch sensitivity, male pattern baldness, and fingerprint uniqueness.

When it comes to two of something for the second day of Christmas, look no further than Twinsburg. If you don't see double here, you need to get your eyes checked.
